We welcome and affirm people of all abilities. We have taken the following steps to assure that no one is excluded from full participation in the life of our church.

Mobility

 

Our sanctuary, fellowship hall, and religio.us education classrooms are fully accessible to those using wheelchairs or having limited mobility. We provide fully accessible restrooms and meeting rooms.

Sight

​

Online:  While we meet online for Sunday "virtual worship services" and various committee meetings, Zoom's accessibility statement applies.  In addition, we try our best to ensure that our service videos are clear and that on-screen print is legible and reasonably large.

​

In person:  In our sanctuary (when we are able to meet in person, see our Covid-19 Statement), we provide large print hymnals and Orders of Service. We also have a braille hymnal available upon request. Please ask any usher for assistance. If you would like an orientation tour of the campus during the week, contact us at info@uuwaco.org to make arrangements.

Hearing

Online:  While we meet online for Sunday "virtual worship services" and various committee meetings, Zoom's accessibility statement applies.  In addition, we try our best to ensure that our service videos are clearly audible.

In person:  In our sanctuary (when we are able to meet in person, see our Covid-19 Statement), we have wire loop technology connected to our PA system. During all church meetings and workshops, we encourage anyone wishing to speak from the audience to use the portable microphones.

​

Chemical Sensitivity

 

In our in-person services, we use odorless candles and low chemical/non-chemical cleaning solutions. We provide numerous houseplants throughout our building, which assist in air quality. None of our houseplants flower. We also provide a smoke-free building.

Special Needs Children

During our in-person services, we provide we provide childcare.  If you feel that your child may require special accommodation due to learning disabilities or behavioral issues, please email us at info@uuwaco.org in advance so we can make the best possible arrangements.

Service Animals

​

We welcome Service Animals to our in-person services, but other pets are generally not brought except once each year for our "animal blessing service." We have grassy areas where service animals may relieve themselves.

​

Of course EVERYONE loves seeing everyone else's pets online during our "virtual coffee" social time, before and after each Sunday's service.
