Hot cup of social justice, anyone?

More than 700 Unitarian Universalist congregations across the country, including UUWaco, are putting their values into action by combining their Sunday morning coffee hour with social justice as participants of the UUSC Coffee Project.

As of July, UUWaco member participation has been so great that organizers have had to request additional inventory for this month, according to Kim Whitney.

In partnership with Equal Exchange, a worker-owned cooperative, the UUSC Coffee Project promotes the use of fairly traded products and receives a small percentage of the proceeds to provide grants for human rights initiatives in coffee-growing countries.

All bags are $7.00 and mugs are $3.00. With every purchase, you support our church and coffee growers. Place your check in the container on the display (please write "coffee" on it).
