Members Respond to Caritas

**UPDATE** So far this month, UUWaco has donated two fans and $396 to benefit folks without any other kind of air conditioning in Waco. Becky Warren, Social Action Committee chairperson, spoke with Buddy Edwards, Caritas executive director, who said Caritas ran out of funds and fans last week. Caritas was very pleased to receive the additional funds and fan donation to the Fan Club this week. Thanks to all who donated!
Members of UUWaco swiftly responded to an urgent plea from Caritas on Sunday, July 5 by donating $206 towards the purchase of fans to benefit Waco's needy during the hot Texas summer as part of Caritas' new "Fan Club" initiative. With UUWaco's first contribution, Caritas was able to purchase 15 box fans for needy clients, according to Bill Foulds, Caritas Assistant Executive Director.
The Fan Club folder will be available for more donations on Sundays throughout July.
