Covenant & Interest Groups
- Written by Brian Gates
One of the easiest and most interesting ways to get involved and meet other like-minded individuals is to join a Covenant or Interest group. Our Covenant Groups are formed around topics, but the reason we get together is to strengthen our ties to the Fellowship by making personal connections with other UUs. The settings are casual and the number of people in the groups is intentionally small so that one can easily get to know everyone.
COVENANT GROUPS
Humanist Covenant Group
Meets every four weeks on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. This group discusses and encourages spiritual discipline and explores spiritual issues from a humanist perspective. Meets at the Fellowship and we usually have delicious food. Please join us! Point of contact: Jane Derrick .
Reading Circle
Meets the 2nd Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Fellowship. Not to be confused with a Book Club. The difference? Bring the book(s) you're reading now to share with others. Tell what you like/dislike about the book, if it is one of your faves or a throw-away. Bring books to pass around and yourself, ready to have fun. Lists of the books discussed are e-mailed out after each meeting. For a list of books our members have read lately, please register and then check out our monthly booklists. Point of contact: Cheryl.Foster@UUWaco.org.
